The first branch office of the company was opened in the province of Kundapur in the year 1923 followed by the second branch, which was opened in Mangalore in 1926. Later it was in the year 1939 that the name of the company was changed to Canara Banking Corporation Ltd., from Canara Banking Corporation (Udipi) Ltd. But in 1972, the name of the bank was again changed to
Corporation Bank Limited and finally it was on 15th of April 1980 that the bank got nationalization and was finally named as Corporation Bank. For individual customers it provides services such as tax payments loan, credit and debit card, insurance products, personal banking, which comprises current and saving accounts, mortgages, investment services, depository services, etc and for the corporate customers it offers mortgages, cash management solutions, lockers, loan for vehicle, etc. There are over 2,021 branches, more than 2,264 ATMs and approximately 4,332 branchless banking unit of the Corporate Bank, which are established all over India.
