BBVA Bancomer was commenced in 1932. Initially, it was known as Banco de Comercio. Since 1982, it is operated as nationalized bank. Bancomer had become a private bank in 1991, when many investors had purchased most of bank's shares. The bank was renamed to BBVA Bancomer in 2000. Bancomer is owned by Spanish BBVA Group.
